Muffin in the mouth!

Even though eating a muffin without using one’s hands is no real achievement, it becomes one when you can do it in 33 seconds. And there’s more to it than simply eating, as you can imagine.

Behind any world record attempt lies the mental preparation. In this instance, I needed to convince myself that I can eat at speed, without my hands. Then there was the physical preparation – getting the ideal muffins from the supermarket. And then there was the combined mental and physical effort called trying. And finally, I got it, which proved to me that, again, I can do what I set my mind to.

Next time, it may not be muffin-eating which grabs my fancy. It might be a bigger project, or one of a completely different kind. Nevertheless, I’ll apply the same formula: mental preparation before physical preparation.

I’d encourage you to do the same. Plan. Plan well, because the best results come to those who prepare in the most thorough means. This applies whether you’re attempting a world record, going for a job promotion, or even simply cooking for guests.

Get out there and do!
