The restaurant and bright lights

The owner of a restaurant the car taking me to Pontianak stopped at wasn’t expecting me, I’m sure. When he asked my name, my country and whether I was travelling alone, I snapped. It wasn’t the last question on its own – it was my fatigue, hunger, dizziness and the stinging pains much like unannounced cracks of a whip over my pelvis that all meant I wasn’t in the mood for stupid questions.

Rest StopWas I travelling alone? The question convinced me the restaurant owner wanted to scope me out for robbery. And I wasn’t taking a bar of it. I stood up, emptied my lungs in his face with fury and made sure the poor guy (and most of his customers) knew that’s a very anti-social question to ask a foreigner. At high volume, I rounded up the guys from the car and signalled for them all to leave with me. Three minutes later, we were accelerating up the incline.

I know it could easily have lead me into more danger on this exciting trip, but then I am on my 100th world record attempt, attracting media attention and yet feel so very cut off from the rest of the world due to being trapped inside this Male Chastity device

Later a friend told me this question is ambiguous; it could mean the person asking has dubious intent, but it can also be friendly banter from local non-English speakers. When I heard that, I felt rather bad. Since, when I’ve been asked this I’ve responded far more meekly.

What seemed like a dozen hours later, but was in fact only 4, the car rolled into Pontianak that night. It reminded me of Singapore – the main streets were very orderly, drivers behaved like role models, and I didn’t see a battered vehicle or building anywhere. Palm oil, fossil fuel extraction and rubber tapping are big industries here. Welcome to another city made wealthy by environmental destruction, I thought.

Why not get involved and experience some of what I am enduring on this 100th world record attempt by getting your own CB-X Male Chastity device and see how restrained you can be with this device protecting your precious assets.
