Light that shines forever. It’s true!

As I cruised the internet, searching for backpacking gear which ticked all the boxes on my stringent list of criteria, my state of mental alertness gradually sank into one of half-open eyes, slumped posture and the odd thought of my next snack.

Locating a virtually indestructible light, which weights almost nothing, which never needs batteries, that shines in any weather, which is waterproof, can be stuffed into a tiny gap, which has multiple uses, and which is as safe as a kindergarten was proving impossible to find. Then, one mouse click took me to UVPaqlite’s website. I felt a surge of excitement, much like an electric current, pass over my body.

Their website struck me so noticeably, for their product range met all my criteria, especially the UVGloStik. Instantly, I became hyperactive. I emailed furiously and soon got a friendly reply. This was torture, for all I wanted was my new toy as soon as possible!

Now let me tell you, it’s not often I get this excited about things. There are too many challenges in this life to leave me ever-excited. But finding this website was one of those rare occasions when I get so excited that my restlessness could be mistaken for a medical condition. I had to have these lights. No negotiations.

The days seemed to pass like weeks, until my new toys arrived: a UVGloStik and a pack of Glow In The Dark Spots, called GIDS. Wow! It might be January, but to me, this was a belated Christmas gift. There was just one problem… it was daytime when the package turned up. But do you think I could wait for nightfall? You must be joking.

Into my house I slipped, shut all the curtains, closed the doors, hung sheets up with clothes pegs and encased an area of my tiny bathroom in as much darkness as I could create. After leaving my incredible toys outside for a few minutes, I dove into the darkness and would you believe it – I had light emission. Incredible.

Man oh man, do I love these new things. And the best thing is they come in an attractive combination of lightweight and rock hard. For outdoor enthusiasts, that’s frequently the ideal. And UVpaqlite got it right. Now, besides dreaming of my next camping adventure, I can’t wait for nightfall so I can wave my lights around like a fairy in the moonshine.

Depending on how adventurous I feel, I might even deliberately turn off the lights and try doing some of my world record paperwork by the glow of the UVGloStik. That sounds an awesome little diversion to me.

So here I sit, counting the half-hours down to dusk, because today, there’s nothing I envy more than the coming of darkness. I’ve become so obsessed with my new toys that a mantra has sprouted in my thoughts, “How long before light becomes night? How long before light becomes night?”

Never in my wildest dreams did I imagine becoming so excited by a lightweight, virtually unbreakable, perpetual glow that I can carry anywhere for life. This is good. But it’s not too good to be true.
