Who had this individual been? In this age of trading plastic and its metabolites, it’s almost certain they’d have been part of the global buy-and-throw-away culture. How rich had they been? Even if they’d been wealthy, it was perfectly obvious that wealth was worthless now. Irrespective, the waste products of the civilization we’ve created were alongside them. Did this person create some of that garbage? We’ll never know, but one thing’s for sure: in the short time we’re on earth, we’re creating garbage that’ll outlive every single one of us. Today I saw an example of exactly that.
